A Song Of Ice And Fire – My Favourite Lines

Obviooously we all know how much I love Game Of Thrones. The show and the book series – A Song Of Ice And Fire – have both provided me with some of my all time favourite quotes. Today in my countdown to season 7 I’m sharing with you some of the lines I love the most. My kindle highlights section is full page after page with lines that I’ve highlighted throughout the years of reading the books so it’s been really hard to whittle it down. Here are a few of those lines I have highlighted that have really made me think and reflect, or have simply been everything I’ve needed to read/hear at a particular moment in my life.

“Sansa, permit me to share a bit of womanly wisdom with you on this very special day. Love is poison. A sweet poison, yes, but it will kill you all the same.”

“My grandmother used to say, summer friends will melt away like summer snows, but winter friends are friends forever”

You’re mine,” she whispered. “Mine, as I’m yours. And if we die, we die. All men must die, Jon Snow. But first, we’ll live.”

Petyr Baelish

“Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but they refuse. They cling to the realm, or the gods, or love. Illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.”

“Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength then it can never be your weakness. Armour yourself in it and it will never be used to hurt you.”
