Academy Awards Red Carpet 2017

Well this years Oscar red carpet was an incredibly impressive one. The biggest trends appeared to be silver and gold metallics as well as some colour blocking peppered here and there. Take a look at my highlights and lowlights below!

Oh Hiiiiiiii Hailee Steinfeld in that adorable Ralph and Russo gown! She is honestly serrrrlaying on this carpet right now obsessed with it all. Those iridescent features YAS gal photo credit: AP

Olivia Culpo wearing a custom Marchesa x Stella Artois dress. YES YOU DID HEAR THAT RIGHT STELLA ARTOIS. THE DRESS INCORPORATES GLASS BEADS MADE FROM THEIR LIMITED EDITION CHALICES. (ok guys it does support a charity so don’t let the stella throw you off) also that purple eyeshadow is a DREAM! photo credit: Getty

Broadway star Cynthia Ervin setting standards high as an early arrival wearing this insane Paolo Sebastian dress. Loved it on the runway and love the translation to red carpet. photo credit: Getty

Obvs I love Valentino & Obvs I love Ruth Negga so I adore everything about this. Proudly wearing an ACLU ribbon, she astounds at her first Oscar appearance as a nominee. I think she suits the richness of the red and the high neck laced detail GIVES ME LIFE! photo credit: Getty

As much as I enjoy this Dior gown, I feel as though it washes Felicity Jones out. I also feel as though the neckline steeps a bit too low which gives the feel that the straps haven’t been tailored as best as they could. photo credit: Getty

Lead Actress nominee Isabelle Huppert astounds in Armani Prive. Obsessed with how the gown falls and is scooped around her waist. Her simple hair and makeup accentuate her Parisian style perfectly. photo credit: Getty

My little ray of sunshine! Sunny Pawar looking absolutely adorable on his first Oscar Red Carpet. His first, yet I predict it’ll definatly not be his last. photo credit: Getty

Kirsten Dunst looks absolutely INCREDIBLE in this perfectly structured Dior gown. I love how fitted the chest piece of the dress is against the a-symetic skirt. She has the perfect smokey eye mastered against her heavy contour which is the perfect accessory for this sultry Dior look. photo credit: Getty

Pharrell arrives with Mimi Valdes partner in production and creativity wearing a Chanel Tux. Modernised by his broach attachment he keeps things new and well, Pharrell. photo credit: AP

Well doesn’t Leslie Mann look excited for the release of Beauty And The Beast next week? She looks like Belle has come to life and I do enjoy this dress. However I feel as though it reminds me of Alicia Vikanders last year Oscar dress which instantly dampens the look somewhat. photo credit: Getty

Emma Stone is looking like an award herself this evening in this gorgeous Grecian style Givenchy Haute Couture gown. It fits her absolutely perfectly and her hair and makeup are out of this world. Love. photo credit: Getty

Karlie Kloss wearing Stella McCartney accentuated with an ACLU ribbon. I do like this look and she’s obviously going to look amazing in everything she wears, but it’s far too similar to Gwyneth Paltrows 2012 Oscar Tom Ford cape dress. photo credit: Getty

UGH TARAJI FEEDING FIRE THROUGHOUT THE CARPET. Obsessed with this custom Alberta Ferretti gown. The dress was only flown to her two days ago and she’s already one of the best dressed. The fit, the texture, the JEWELS. photo credit: Getty

I am obsessed with all that is Alicia Vikander. Ever since her red carpet appearances last year I’ve been hooked on this gal and she sure continues the fierceness with this Louis Vuitton gown. I am literally in love with the shoes, the choker, and the BUN! She’s serving very pirate princess and I just think she is everything! I so looking forward to seeing her reprise Lara Croft this year. photo credit: Getty

Not a huge fan of this dress. The colours in the pattern are sickly and the belt makes me want to cry a bit. Scar Jo is a mega babe but this just did not do a single thing for me. photo credit: Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP

Queen Viola Davis wearing a stunning Armani Prive striking red gown. I am praying to the high heavens for a win for Viola and this dress is a perfect winner dress! Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic

oh WOW I LOVE this Gucci dress which has come straight off the runway! Dakota Johnson looks so delicately gorgeous in it and I’m glad the hair and makeup has been toned down against the dramatic colour of the dress. photo credit: Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP

I don’t really love this Versace gown but it’s Halle Berry so yano. It could have done without the metallic bottom as it’s way too much against the draped black mesh. photo credit: Frazer Harrison/Getty Images

DEFINATELY going to be on everyones best dressed lists in the morning as Janelle Monae wears straight off the runway Elie Saab. She has killed every red carpet this awards season, yet she has really pulled out the stops for the Oscars. The choker, the hair band the birds. Everything about this dress is divine. photo credit: Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP

Nominee Nicole Kidman looks so regal in this Armani gown. Her SKIN is so radiant and beautiful accentuated with that delicious red lipstick. Her ears hold rubies to make the lip pop, and the dress fits her so beautifully. photo credit: Kevin Mazur/Getty Images photo credit: Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP

Ryan Gosling looking naturally delicious on the red carpet as he attends with the hope of a Lead Actor win. Wearing Gucci, he jazzes things up with a detailed shirt. Swoon. photo credit: Kevin Mazur/Getty Images photo credit: Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP

Oh my goodness just LOOK at the gorgeousness that is Dev Patel and his mum at the Oscars. Dev is wearing Burberry and his mum looks equally as stunning. photo credit: Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP

Brie Larson is wearing an incredible Oscar De La Renta gown. The look reminds me of Alicia Vikanders and both women rock this velvet LBD look so well. Love that Brie has opted for a wet hair look. So much fire, especially with those strapped sandals. photo credit: Kevin Mazur/Getty Images

Charlize Then owns the Oscar red carpet every year. This 80s inspired look is designed by Dior. My one thing I’d change about it is the fit of the waist and shoulders. I think it needs taking in every so slightly but she still looks as gorge as ever. photo credit: Steve Granitz/WireImage

Mega babes JT and Jessica Biel arrived nice and early at the red carpet. Jessica wears KAUFMANFRANCO with a Tiffany choker and Justin wears Tom Ford. photo credit: David Fisher/REX/Shutterstock

Octavia Spencer looking incredible in this feathered metallic Marchesa gown. The cold shoulder looks amazing on her and she’s another nominee to stick with the jewel tone trend. photo credit: David Fisher/REX/Shutterstock

Naomie Harris makes history on the caret as she wears Raf Simons first ever Calvin Klein red carpet design. Delivering a cut-out AND a train, this simple yet well designed dress looks delightful on Naomie Harris. Also obsessing over the mismatched shoes. photo credit:Steve Granitz/WireImage

Well I think that Casey Affleck looks really good in this tux with a mismatched tatty beard and hair do. photo credit:Steve Granitz/WireImage

Very similar to Ruth Neggas gown, we have another cherry red high neck laced look. Ginnfer Goodwin is wearing a Lydia Deetz gown reportedly yet this is not confirmed just yet. Despite the slight faux pas to be wearing a similar dress to a lead actress nominee, she still looks gorge. photo credit: Kevin Mazur/Getty Images

Priyanka Chopra wearing a perfectly cut out Ralph and Russo gown. Another silver toned dress which seems to be one of the biggest trends of the evening. photo credit: Kevin Mazur/Getty Images

Salma Hayek wearing an incredible Alexander McQueen dress. The black looks really nice on her as its feathered with lace making the overall effect not too harsh. She looks delightfully ethereal! photo credit: Getty

The darling Michelle Williams in her blessed Louis Vuitton. Sporting an even shorter pixie cut than usual, she looks perfectly dressed. Love u forever Michelle xoxoxox photo credit:
