88th Academy Awards Red Carpet

My favourite looks from last nights Red Carpet! I’ll be posting a video later of my thoughts on the actual ceremony! Green was a familiar look last night along with Marchesa! It was a successful red carpet and the stars were out to shine!

Sophie Turner you little babe. I love redheads in shades of green I think it’s the most statement thing they can do. This hushed green is the perfect tone to emphasise her hair and porcelain skin it really helps her to stand out on the carpet. Wearing a sustainable Galvan gown. | Getty Images

Emily Blunt & baby bump wearing a gorgeous Prada dress. What a perfect colour for an expecting woman! Such cute detailing on the dress too. I love her so much! Hurray for the next Mary Poppins! | Getty Images

Alicia Vikander channels her inner disney princess wearing this yellow Louis Vuitton gown. Whilst i’m not totally mad on the design of the dress, her radiance and happiness instantly make her one of the most beautiful women in the room. | Getty Images

Amy Poehler is a work of art in this Andrew Gn embroidered kimono dress. Did anyone else think the production editors missed a great opportunity to cut to Amy as Joe Biden came on stage??

I mean i’m not really into this Gucci dress or her hair and makeup but still, I’m thrilled for Brie to be picking up best lead actress. The gown fits her nicely but I think it’s a little cheap looking and would have rather seen it at the SAG awards not the Oscars. Especially when nominated for such a huge award. | Getty Images

Chrissy Teigen proves that you can do runway fashion even with a huge baby bump! Couple of the year Chrissy Teigen and John Legend glow as per usual on the red carpet. Chrissy wears a FW16 Marchesa dress that she was sewn into! See it on the runway below. I love how it’s been tailored to suit her pregnant body!

Charlize Theon is queen of the red carpet. She is so old glamour Hollywood that she never seems to give us anything less than 100% flawless. This year is no exception as she takes a serious cleavage dive with this beautiful red custom Dior dress. she OBVIOUSLY accessorises with $3.7mil diamonds by Harry Winston! Why ever not?! | Getty Images

Daisy Ridley looks so beautiful in this Chanel Couture dress. Her makeup also really turns her look a classic one. However I kind of have a motto that if they are worn in clubs in Manchester and coveted by WAGs and TOWIE stars, Louboutins have no real place on the red carpet of the Academy Awards. I don’t want this to sound like i’m going in against her but if it was my debut oscars appearance at the start of a heavily anticipated film career I would have worn something a little more risque and out there. Sorry Daisy! I do really like you still! | Getty Images

Essentially, I should hate everything about this dress. However, Heidi Klum somehow manages to pull it off! Sure, it’s flamboyant and camp and resembling of a bridesmaid dress from a bad 80s romance film but so what! It’s a risk, it’s a statement and it’s eyecatching. It ticks all the academy award red carpet checklists! E! announced that it was Versace whilst Vogue claimed it was Marchesa. It is in fact a FW16 hot off the runway Marchesa piece.

Even though I love this Atelier Versace dress on Jennifer Garner, I think after her recent divorce openings she should have maybe worn a colour. Or even incorporated a flash of brightness into her accessories or makeup somehow. I just don’t want to feel like she’s mourning when she is so damn fabulous! | Getty Images

Lady Gaga has come such a long way. She was a vital part of the awards tonight and got across some really powerful points about sexual assault. She was frequently compared to Marilyn Monroe throughout the evening thanks to her all white half jumpsuit half gown ensemble by her good friend Brandon Maxwell, as well as her Hollywood blonde curls. | Getty Images

Nominee Jennifer Lawrence of course arrived in a wonderfully detailed Dior gown. It’s not her gown however that stood out for me but her LUDICROUSLY GLOSSY HAIR. That lighter tone is absolutely glorious on the red carpet with her dewy skin and shoulder length bob. Amaaaaazing! | Getty Images

love love love this Atelier Versace dress on Kerry Washington! And those Gianvito Rossi shoes! She too wore Harry Winston jewels. I love how contrasting the leather bodice and white airy bottom part are. | Getty Images

Julianne Moore is in my top 10 women in Hollywood. She probably ranks even higher. She is just one of the most astounding women and it’s an honor to see her work and her demeanour be appreciated more and more. She wore a Chanel Couture dress which was originally debuted via Kendall Jenner at the Chanel show. I love the transition from Kendall to Julianne. Both women look incredible in it and it’s such a good example of how these glorious designers can create fashion which can be worn by any age with a touch of tailoring. People are very quick to judge runway looks for being made for a particular type of woman. If tonights red carpet teaches us anything it’s that high fashion CAN be extremely versatile and be worn by all types of women. | Getty Images

Margot Robbie looks like an oscar herself in this all gold Dior gown. She is literally one of the prettiest women in Hollywood right now so it’s so fab to see her looking so good on the red carpet as some of her past choices haven’t done her own beauty justice, this however is done very well. | Getty Images

I was expecting to see Mindy in a Salvador Perez design but this Elizabeth Kennedy dress is a nice surprise! The shawl effect makes her look really super glamourous. The blocked black section of the dress is incredibly flattering and shows how gorgeous she damn well is! Makeup obviously on fleek and she’s either had some form of facial augmentation or I need to get in touch with her MUA ASAP! I was really pissed off to see some extremely popular magazines discussing that her dress was too tight and she had opted for “a size too snug” like STFU why are people even wasting their life discussing her weight when she’s been increasingly open about her relationship with herself and the media in her books. GET a grip! How anyone can attach that comment to their magazine whilst probably also featuring a “Why your body’s perfect for you” column is BEYOND me! Sorry to get heated but just no. | Getty Images

I love seeing Valentino on the Oscars red carpet so i’m thrilled that Olivia Wilde was styled in this piece! It’s grecian, it’s bridal, it’s risqué and it’s a wonderful choice! I want to see this dress on Daenerys Targaryan in the new GOT season!

So so so envious of this tropical and perfectly tailored look from Olivia Munn. I feel like it’d be one of those dresses that you try and think “is this really good enough?” because of how simple the idea is but it is translated so damn well on the carpet! The one shoulder Stella McCartney masterpiece’s chicness lies with the simplicity of the material and the way it falls on her. The colour is the perfect shade and the matching lip absolutely makes the look.

Rooney Mara is another porcelin star this evening in a perfectly fitting piece of work designed by Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy. The detailing is so regal and against her complexion with the red lip and dark hair the colour works beautifully for her.

Saorise Ronan steps away from her usual looks and into this emerald dream from Calvin Klein. I think it’s a great statement whilst she’s representing her film Brooklyn which relies heavily on Irish themes. So gorge! Her eye makeup is goals also.

Sofia Vergara just kills it everytime. Like she NEVER fails to be on everybody’s best dress list! Another astounding Marchesa gown.
